As everyone probably knows by now, Mike Huckabee, the Baptist Minister and former Governor of Arkansas (from the small town of Hope, the same town that former President Bill Clinton was born) has won the Republican Iowa Caucus. He beat out the much richer Mitt Romney, who spent upwards of 7 $million compared to Huckabee’s poultry hundreds of thousands of dollars, a significant difference. Obama on the other side beat out John Edwards who got second and Hillary Clinton who go third.
Huckabee getting the win means that the little guy can still win in American politics, which is a great thing. Although Huckabee will still be tested significantly in the later states, because unlike Iowa (where 60% of the population identifies themselves as evangelical Christians, and thus voted for Huckabee) other states are more secular oriented. So it’ll definitely be very interesting to watch.
Since Huckabee is once again the talk of the town, I thought I’d post some interesting extensive interviews with the Presidential hopeful.
First up is two videos of Mike Huckabee from his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, part 1 and part 2. You can clearly see how likable of a guy he is from these interviews and he does a great job with his comedic side.
Next up is the more hard-hitting Meet the Press interview with Tim Russert. I’m no fan of him and he IMO definitely and obviously leans liberal (I love the homosexual part where he says it’s an offense to millions of Americans, despite the fact that hundreds of millions more are not homosexual and agree 100% with Huckabee’s views), but it’s good to see how a candidate acts when hit with hard-questions and criticized face to face. This interview is in 3 parts.

It’s a really, really interesting interview though and I was shocked to see it considering that I love both bands and Ryan Clark is one of my role models! I even got to meet and talk to him in person when I went to their concert during the Undying Tour and he is the most awesome person that we should get our utmost respect!
The interview is very, very interesting and there’s lots of cool tidbits of info that I had never heard before, such as the fact that Ryan’s dad was a pastor for most of his life and he grew up in the church. And just the very fact that someone did an “Artist on Artist” interview like this is awesome to me, especially since they are both Christians, so they talk a lot about their faith. Lacey is a little difficult to hear though (click on the link above to listen to the interview) which is the only real issue, but this is an ACTUAL phone call and she is kind of shy and hard to understand in her songs if you don’t know the lyrics, so that’s to be expected.
But the best part of this interview comes near the end, where we learn that Demon Hunter and Flyleaf are planning to TOUR TOGETHER! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait for that. So hopefully we’ll learn details on it early on in 2008.

Well the name of P.O.D.’s new album (with the return of band member Marcos) has finally been revealed and the name is a doozy. At least it was completely unexpected for me and it’s unlike the name of any other P.O.D. album before (Which are typically one-word: Snuff the Punk, Brown, The Funamental Elements of Southtown, Satellite, self-titled, Testify).
The new name of the album is “When Angels & Serpents Dance“. Click the name to go to P.O.D.’s official album cover reveal site where they are slowly revealing the cover in it’s entirety. There is only one more day left before it will be fully revealed. You can also enter a contest to win swag, so be sure to check it out!
So far the cover is underwhelming, but the most important piece has yet to be revealed so I’ll wait to fully see it first. The new album is scheduled for release in early 2008.

Whelp, Thanksgiving is over, did you have fun? I definitely did! My parent’s food was fantastic and we had some friends over for much laughs and lots of joy overall. We even had fun playing four-player Buzz (PS2). Makes a perfect party game!
And while the Thanksgiving holiday may be done with, that doesn’t mean that the spirit of Thanksgiving has to end. To the contrary, Thanksgiving is something we as Christians should be doing continuously (pray without ceasing as the Bible says), both to our Lord as well as just being thankful in general for what we have.
Here is a nice poem I thought I’d share. Thanks to Stryper’s myspace for posting this:
GIVING THANKS
Thanksgiving comes but once a year
A day filled with peace and love
We spend time with those who are dear
And to thank our Lord above
For all the blessings He bestows
Sometimes we forget to pray
But on this special day he knows
For Him we reserve this day
We thank him for our families
For the food that’s on our plates
For all the opportunities
To grow in the United States
We thank him for the work we do
And nice friends to spend time with
We thank him for our houses, too
Not everyone is blessed with this
Thanksgiving comes but once a year
Not everyone gets their share
For those who aren’t as lucky as us
Remember them in your prayers
Ours is only just now getting started at 6 in the evening! But I CAN’T WAIT TO EAT!!!!!!!!!
I thought I’d go ahead and do one more Thanksgiving-related post on this awesome holiday. And what is it? This is my home church, People’s Church (used to be Church on Fire) in Phoenix, Arizona on the local Fox 10 News!
We had our annual “Great Turkey Giveaway” and someone posted it on Craigslist, where Fox got a hold of it and sent their cameras down for a quick segment that shows my pastor and friends (or, ahem, “church officials”) handing out the turkeys, as well as a quick chat with one of the lady’s that got a free turkey! “Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” - Psalm 95:2
Thanksgiving is a time to come before the Lord and in the presence of friends and family and to sincerely thank the Lord for all that we are blessed with. Even if it may not look like you are blessed due to your current circumstances, you can indeed find something to be thankful for, even if it’s the very fact that you are living in the United States where you have the right to live and worship how you want to.
And in addition to giving the Lord thanks the holiday is a day that’s set aside to share time, food and discussion with all your friends and family, which can be especially important if you have a big family that doesn’t see each other often. Take advantage of this time to simply let the stress of work and life go, and be blissfull and THANKFUL for your very breath of life and the things you do have. Most importantly of all, be positive on what is a positive and encouraging day.
Most everyone has probably seen this by now, but I thought it was the perfect video to post for Thanksgiving! And I hope everyone out there is having a good one.

The Comatose Deluxe Edition features are:
* 1 Brand new studio song called “Live Free”

These follow their previous two hit singles Rebirthing, which spent seven weeks at #1 on Christian rock radio and The Last Night.
Sales of Comatose have been Skillet’s best ever, with the record selling over a quarter of a million copies since it’s release on October 3rd, 2006, double that of Collide in half the time. Comatose also garnered the band a prestigious Grammy nomination.
Following sell-out tours with fellow-Christian rockers Flyleaf, summer festivals and their fall tour with mainstream rock outfits Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace, Skillet is currently on break but will begin touring again in January as part of the Winter Jam tour. You can see concert dates for their upcoming and current tour dates at Skillet’s official web-site.

The third music video of the day is Endure by Becoming the Archetype off their last album (they have a new one in the works btw) The Physics of Fire. If you missed it see my previous Music Video of the Day for Flyleaf’s All Around Me.
Becoming the Archetype (BtA) is a Christian heavy metal band that uses lots of very cool instrumentals in their songs. Their sophomore album had a lot more polish than their debut album and a theme of the “Fire” that burns inside all of us (At the end it’s revealed to be Jesus Christ, and yes, spoken by name. A rare thing, even from Christian metal bands), and this theme plays throughout the entire record.
Check out the music video and the lyrics below it. Love the fire effects! Endure Music Video
