Today’s “Music-Video-Of-The-Day” is All Around Me by Flyleaf (Check out the first Video Of The Day if you missed it). This great band fronted by a remarkable young women is one of the brightest lights in the world today for Christ.
They are unashamed and unshy about their faith and yet they are not scared to tour with even the worst bands (they are touring with Korn soon). Even so, they never allow it to effect them (so says the lead singer of The Showdown, another one of my favorite bands) and they continue to live life the right way. I’ll post an interview soon with Lacey, the lead singer, so you can see yourself why she is such a light to the world, she has a great testimony that no one should miss.
Flyleaf is coming out with a special edition of their debut self-titled record on October 30th! Be sure to pick it up and support them! I’ll post more on the special edition album as well as some video previews of the acoustic versions of their songs that will be on the special edition DVD in the coming days.
For now check out their latest music video! The song is All Around Me. Lyrics below:
Today marks the inception of my “Quote of the Day” and “Video of the Day” features. Although I use the word “Of the day” that does not, in fact, mean that I will post quotes or music videos daily. I will however try and post these as often as I can, with one every few days being the goal. But hey you very well may get the daily. We’ll see.
And what better to mark my first post than with the music video for Demon Hunter’s “Fading Away”, off their upcoming album Storm the Gates of Hell. I already told you about Demon Hunter on Headbanger’s Ball, but now I can actually post the video on my site via the power of youtube! YAY!

Demon Hunter’s brand-new music video for their first single, “Fading Away”, off their upcoming album “Storm the Gates of Hell” (dropping November 6th, 2007!) is premiering this weekend on MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball!
Make sure you check your local listings so you don’t miss it! I’m sure Ryan Clark and the guys will be there on your television screen! So everyone needs to go out there and support them and their awesome upcoming album!
The side-project from UnderOath’s drummer Aaron Gillespie (published as the first ever joint venture between Tooth & Nail and Virgin Records), his band The Almost, has released their debut album “Southern Weather” and it’s done very good so far. Just as good as UnderOath themselves I’d be willing to bet.
Now the band needs your help to win the voting for both AOL’s Breakers and MTV’s TRL (where you will need to register first to vote btw)! Please vote for the band to show the power of their fans and to get this band of believers even more coverage. There are only two more days left for The Breaker’s and the voting is very close! The Almost is only winning by 2% so keep votes for them coming!
Here is the music video for Say This Sooner by The Almost.

Anberlin has released a brand new music video for their song Godspeed off of their most recent album Cities, which was released on February 20th earlier this year.
Anberlin’s previous music video was for the song Paperthin Hymn off their last record, Never Take Friendship Personal. But unlike that last music video, this one goes in a much different direction.
The focus of the video is entirely on the band, who are playing in what looks like snow that starts to fall on the very cool forest environment as they play (it being night time is also a neat touch).
It offers a nice scenic view of the band (even if the fast-paced camera cuts make it hard to follow sometimes) while they rock out, and the song itself is also much faster throughout than previous singles. I really like this song (I particularly love the shouts of “hey hey!” and such) and the video is nice too. Videos are cool when they focus on the band if they are done well, which I think it is here, and it’s an entirely different direction going from the “storytelling” of their last video to this.
So enjoy the new music video for Anberlin’s Godspeed from the Cities album.

Christian rapper Manafest, who I’ve talked about previously, has released a new music video from his latest album “Glory”, which was released back in September last year.
The music video, and the song, do what (I think) Manafest does best, which is combine solid rap (although his skills aren’t that impressive as far as rapping goes, like fellow Christian rap artist KJ-52) with some rock/nu-metal ala Thousand Foot Krutch, who’s frontman Trevor McNevan is featured in the video, mainly doing the very cool chorus.
I like the video, it’s done pretty well and I like the camera angles used and the way it cuts to their faces, and of course Manafest rocks out pretty well in the vid. I don’t really get the girls added at the end and why they decided to put them in the video though . . . they seem out of place. But it doesn’t really effect the video’s quality. So check out Manafest’s new video for Impossible featuring Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch!

The Dutch justice minister has rejected a call by a Christian party to stop Madonna staging a mock-crucifixion in concerts in Amsterdam.
Minister Piet Hein Donner said he understood the concerns of the SGP party which asked the minister to prevent Madonna performing the scene in concerts Sunday and Monday, but said only a court could take action against the show.
“It is understandable that Christians feel offended by the crucifixion act that Madonna performs,” he said in remarks posted on the SGP website. “It is a reprehensible way to attract attention at the cost of the deepest feelings of many people.”
“That does not mean that this act can be classified as blasphemy,” he said. “Judgment over whether the event in question constitutes blasphemy is not up to the justice minister, but up to prosecutors and ultimately a judge.” (more…)

About 20,000 people came together on Verbena, a small community near Clanton, for a Christian rock festival. But, the event has its origins in Cottondale.
Travis Crim, a former walk-on football player at the University of Alabama and former youth minister at the Church at Tuscaloosa, is the impetus behind the festival. The vision for it solidified during an event he held a decade ago in Cottondale.
It was a Wednesday night, and a small group had gathered outside. There was a bonfire, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows.
“I think that night was the most powerful for me,” Crim said during a telephone interview. “After it was over, a little girl made a decision. God really moved in her heart, and she kind of made a commitment to the Lord that she was going to be intentional in her faith.”
Crim wanted others to have the same experience as that girl. So he began to think bigger. “God had spoken in my heart, that he wanted to do the same type of thing but on a larger scale,” Crim said. (more…)

Christian Music Today had the awesome opportunity to interview John Cooper, the lead singer of Christian mega-band Skillet, who’s 2003 Collide album (Skillet’s 6th album, though band members have changed dramtically over the years) rocketed the band to seeming over-night success, both in the Christian as well as the secular realm, with popular radio hits like Savior, Open Wounds and A Little More. Now the band has a new album coming out, called Comatose, releasing on Oct. 3rd.

Check out this interview with Christian metal band Bride. Bride has been around for decades (two to be exact), playing heavily in the underground metal scene. Although they have reached popularity before and they have a dedicated fanbase, like fellow metal-friends Tourniquet, the band has never reached true mainstream or breakthrough status. However they continue to play, tour (currently in Brazil) and write music, and a new album is in the works. Their music spans over 278 songs across over 26 albums. You can check out more of Bride at the bands official web-site, Bride Pub. And they’re myspace has a few songs you can listen to as well.
