A new song from blackmetal band With Faith or Flames has been posted up on the With Faith or Flames myspace page and the title of the new track is “Burn It Down“. The new song is still in “demo” form and could likely change by the time it lands on the actual upcoming album that is in the making.
View lyrics for the new song below. I must say that while the new song is awesome, if they are talking about President George W. Bush then I’ll be upset. I definitely disagree with the sentiment of some that Bush has “taken away our rights”, BUT in honesty he could be talking about any dictator-type person or society, such as the lovely Hugo Chavez (yes that’s sarcasm), friend of all Hollywood liberals and yet someone who claims to be a holy man.

With Faith or Flames (WFOF) FAQ:
IS WFOF A CHRISTIAN BAND?
This is the most frequently asked question we get, and probably the hardest to answer. In our minds, no, we are not. We are Christians, but a Christian band’s purpose should be to glorify God and to spread His Gospel, of which we do neither. As Christians, our music will naturally reflect our backgrounds, as is true with any artist, but lyrically our message is more about our opinions of the world around us. We want our music to be accessable to anyone, regardless of their personal background, and we feel that by labelling ourselves as a “Christian band”, we would limit our audience and reject many of the people who would need the positive message we offer.
If you have any doubts about our motives, just look at Black Sabbath. In their time, they were regarded by many as “devil music”, and this is reflected still today by the massive number of non-Christian fans they carry. However, listen to songs like “After Forever”, “Children Of The Grave”, and “Black Sabbath”, and you’ll see that their message was more of a warning to those who defy the Creator, rather than a glorification of the devil.
WHY AREN’T YOU GUYS SIGNED YET?
Good question! One I wish we had an answer for. All I know to say is if you want to help, send your favorite label an email asking them why they haven’t signed us. I promise every label has a myspace account.

WHERE CAN I GET A COPY OF “BENEATH THE HEEL OF OPPRESSION”?
As an unsigned band, our funds are very limited at this point. Our initial pressing of 1000 copies has already sold out, and we currently lack the money for a second pressing. Until we raise the money, or until a label decides to release it, it will remain out of print. We do have plans to begin selling it online soon as MP3s, so stay tuned for more details regarding that.
WHY DON’T YOU COME TO MY TOWN?
Once again, as an unsigned band, touring is very difficult for us. We still try our best to tour as often and extensively as possible, but during slow times, it is very hard for us to travel long distances without asking for enough money to cover our expenses. Because we are such a small band at this point, a lot of places cannot pay what it would cost for us to make big trips, as we do not have the pull in those areas we would need to generate that kind of money. We have no problem with breaking even in order to have a good time in your area, but unfortunately even breaking even can be expensive at far enough distances. The best way would be to try and generate more interest for us in your area. Let your friends hear our music, and show promoters that it would be worth the expense to book us. Otherwise, wait until we’re on tour again! We’ll try to rock every place we can!
I HEARD RUMORS THAT YOU MIGHT BE BREAKING UP. IS THERE ANY TRUTH TO THAT?
Not no, but HELL NO! We won’t lie, 2007 has been a really rough year for us so far, with van breakdowns and member changes leading to many show cancellations, but nothing worth doing was ever easy, right? We’re finally back to where we need to be as a band, with full ability to tour, as well as a slew of awesome new songs about ready to come out! Don’t worry, your WFOF isn’t going anywhere, just growing and adapting.
WHAT WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE AS?
Metal. We know… there are lots of different kinds of metal, but none of them are off limits to us. Since we blend so many different styles into one sound, it’s hard to pin down exactly what kind of metal we are. We’ve decided instead to label ourselves according to our outlook on life. We all love to have a good time and party down, so from here on out, we’re “Party Shred”.
WHAT ARE YOUR SONGS ABOUT?
Everything that we feel is important enough to share with the world, mainly based on our experiences with faith, politics, and even the state of the music scene today. In essence, VOTE RON PAUL 2008! If you don’t know why you should, do some research. You may be surprised at what you find!
WHAT DOES YOUR NAME MEAN?/WHERE DID IT COME FROM?
The meaning should be pretty self explanatory. As far as where it came from, when we first started playing together, we were a different band with a different name. After certain member and sound changes, we decided it wasn’t the same band anymore, and needed a new name. At the time, former guitarist Dustin was pretty much at the helm concerning most of the band matters. For a month or so, we came up with this huge list of ideas, and he thought all of them were pretty lame. Finally, one morning (around 8AM or so), he calls us and says he’s got it: With Faith Or Flames. At 8AM, and after a month’s worth of rejected ideas, anything he would have said would have sounded awesome. It ended up sticking, and here we are today! We know, we know, this story is VERY deep and VERY interesting, which is why we love telling it SO VERY MUCH!!! But we get asked it pretty often, so we figured we’d tell everyone all the glamorous details.
