Mitt Romney, the Mormon Republican Presidential Candidate, has won the Family Research Council’s GOP “Values Voters” straw poll in Washington.
Quite a surprise to me but it must be a big win for the former Massachusetts governor, as a high values vote (the very type of vote that put Bush in office in 2004) could be a huge factor in boosting his status for voters who may not have chosen him beforehand.
But the biggest surprise for me, outside of Ron Paul’s coming in third place . . . . is the extremely strong showing for Mike Huckabee, who came in second place. From Fox News:
Two former governors, Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Mike Huckabee of Arkansas, shared the limelight on Saturday, handily winning the top two spots in a straw poll of “values voters” conducted by the conservative Family Research Council in Washington.
In the straw poll Romney came in first with 1,595 votes, followed closely by Huckabee with 1,565.

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” - Catholic Author and Lecturer Gil Bailie
Powerful words, eh. When you really think about it, it is the people who live life to the fullest, the ones that have “come alive”, that effect the world, and the people in it the most. People respect you if you are always positive, and living for something other than yourself that gives you a drive that most people don’t have. Words to live by, definitely.

My brother just a few days ago got his copy of The 7 Method’s first album, Roses Like Razorblades and I gave half the CD a listen. And we’ve played it in the car and such.
It’s a good album, think metal but with singing verses and choruses with only screamed background vocals added for effect.
The production isn’t the best, you can tell it’s a debut record, but my opinion is that they will get better and better and have a unique enough sound to separate them from the rest. They are definitely singable songs although he can be hard to understand if you don’t know the lyrics, despite his singing.
They have a new record coming out as well, check out The 7 Method Myspace to get a sampling.
And the band is now looking for a new bass player! Here’s the info direct from their myspace blog post:
