The official Flyleaf Fan-Club “Passerby Army”, has just been announced and launched today!
The name is fitting because before the band had the now world-famous name of Flyleaf, they were called Passerby, and in fact they released three EPs under that name, but had to change it due to the name already being taken.
So they chose the name “Flyleaf”, why that name? What does it mean? “A flyleaf is the blank page at the front of a book,” explains Lacey Mosley, Flyleaf’s singer. “It’s the dedication page, the place you write a message to someone you’re giving a book to, and, that’s kind of what our songs are—personal messages that provide a few moments of clarity before the story begins.”
When you become a member of Passerby Army you will receive a membership t-shirt that is ONLY available by becoming a member. In addition to the Flyleaf t-shirt, you will gain access to the Passerby Army members’ only fan site where exclusive Flyleaf video, audio, news updates, members’ only message board, chat server and much more will be made available to you. Members will also gain access to pre-sale tickets at low service fees before the general public. As an added bonus, the first 85 members who join will receive an exclusive Flyleaf hoodie in place of the t-shirt.
It costs $25 dollars (plus shipping and handling) for a one-year Passerby Army membership.

“Captain the ship is sinking, have mercy” - from the song “The End of All Things Will Be Televised” by Norma Jean from their last album Redeemer.
I freakin’ love this line. He screams it like five times in a row and each time I gotta crank the sound up cause it’s so awesome! Gives me chills. Obviously the line is open to interpretation, but they are a Christian band so I interpret the “ship” to be the world, sinking further and further into sin, and the “Captain” being the Lord. Because in the line just before this, he talks of all the empires that were wiped away in an instant. That verse from the same song says this exactly:
O infamous city, full of turmoil, I’m terrified at your collapse
The kings, they shudder with horror, their faces distorted with fear
Endless empires gently brushed away in the blink of an eye
All Creation, wilted
Which of course is referring to the ancient cities, like Babylon, that God destroyed because of their sin. That was a different time, different place, before the coming of Jesus, of course, and they did not have The Holy Spirit inside them, but the point remains the same. Turn to the Savior, Jesus Christ, before the sin of the world, corrupts you and everything around you.
By the way, Norma Jean announced on their myspace blog that they will be coming out with a collection of all their albums soon!
If you missed my the Quote of the Day #1, give that a look.

I thought I’d alert everyone to this event in case anyone can attend it.
If you are between the ages of 13-18 then check out Camp Electric. It is a Christian “rock and roll camp” where kids can jam out (and learn how to play instruments) with members from various bands, including Pillar, Tobymac, Tait and more. From Pillar particularly, Rob Beckley (singer), Lester Estelle (drums) and Kalel (bass) will all be attending!
Camp Electric will be held on June 29th-July 3rd, 2008 in Nashville, Tennessee at Trevecca Nazarene University. Tickets to attend the camp will definitely sell out fast so you better get in early if you want to join. Click the name up above to go to the web-site, which isn’t fully up yet but there is a link to the Camp Electric myspace page for more information. Or if you’re too lazy read some descriptions of the camp below:
