“If you believe in the Father, then you must also believe in the Son”. I found a really interesting blog entry that I thought I’d post here for all of you to read, she calls it “The God-Man”. And I totally agree with what she says in this whole piece. It’s really interesting and it makes a heck of a lot of sense once you connect the dots (in this case Bible verses). I would like to discuss a particular passage of scripture called the “Kenosis” passage. Kenosis means “Emptying”. If you will turn with me in your Bibles to Philippians 2: 5-7.

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (6) who being in the form of God . . . ”

I want you to focus on the word, “being”. This word in the original language means:

Being: The present participle of huparcho, - “to exist,” which always involves a pre-existent state, prior to the fact referred to, and a continuance of the state after the fact. Thus in Philippians 2:6, the phrase, “who being”, huparchon in the form of God,” implies his pre-existent deity, previous to his birth, and a continued deity afterwards.

Christ was already existing in very nature God (deity), and after the incarnation still continued to exist in very nature (deity) God.

Anberlin releases new music video for the song Godspeed from Cities album

Anberlin has released a brand new music video for their song Godspeed off of their most recent album Cities, which was released on February 20th earlier this year.

Anberlin’s previous music video was for the song Paperthin Hymn off their last record, Never Take Friendship Personal. But unlike that last music video, this one goes in a much different direction.

The focus of the video is entirely on the band, who are playing in what looks like snow that starts to fall on the very cool forest environment as they play (it being night time is also a neat touch).

It offers a nice scenic view of the band (even if the fast-paced camera cuts make it hard to follow sometimes) while they rock out, and the song itself is also much faster throughout than previous singles. I really like this song (I particularly love the shouts of “hey hey!” and such) and the video is nice too. Videos are cool when they focus on the band if they are done well, which I think it is here, and it’s an entirely different direction going from the “storytelling” of their last video to this.

Manafest releases new music video for Impossible from Glory album. Features Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch

Christian rapper Manafest, who I’ve talked about previously, has released a new music video from his latest album “Glory”, which was released back in September last year.

The music video, and the song, do what (I think) Manafest does best, which is combine solid rap (although his skills aren’t that impressive as far as rapping goes, like fellow Christian rap artist KJ-52) with some rock/nu-metal ala Thousand Foot Krutch, who’s frontman Trevor McNevan is featured in the video, mainly doing the very cool chorus.

I like the video, it’s done pretty well and I like the camera angles used and the way it cuts to their faces, and of course Manafest rocks out pretty well in the vid. I don’t really get the girls added at the end and why they decided to put them in the video though . . . they seem out of place. But it doesn’t really effect the video’s quality. So check out Manafest’s new video for Impossible featuring Trevor McNevan of Thousand Foot Krutch!
