Court Martial Hearing for prayer in USA
This Monday morning, the court martial process begins with a pre-trial hearing for U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt at the Naval Station in Norfolk, Virginia.
Janet Folger, president of Faith2Action and author of The Criminalization of Christianity, will be at the court martial hearing on Monday, lending her support to the chaplain. Janet exclaims: “For all those who thought the ‘Criminalization of Christianity’ is an exaggeration, think again!”
Chaplain Klingenschmitt is facing a court martial for praying in Jesus’ name in public while wearing his uniform on March 30. He did not express political or any other views as has been alleged.
Klingenschmitt is not alone in facing this religious persecution. Sixty-six other current and former chaplains are suing the Navy for the limits placed on them. He has heard from chaplains in other branches of the military who are also being restricted in what they can say and do.
“While our soldiers fight for freedom abroad, our own chaplains are facing court martial for praying for them,” said Folger.
