Music Video: As I Lay Dying - 94 Hours
In our second As I Lay Dying update, you will see the music video for the song 94 Hours off As I Lay Dying’s second major album, Frail Words Collapse.
While the video is extremely less cinematic than their newer videos, it’s a totally awesome song nonetheless.
And for those that question whether or not As I Lay Dying is in fact a Christian band, here’s some interview excerpts:
Would you consider As I Lay Dying as a Christian metal band?
Tim: Yeah. I mean, all 5 of us are Christians so I don’t know how that does not make us a Christian band. But at the same time, we’ve never been known as a band that’s extremely preachy on stage. I think that we intelligently represent what we believe and gain people’s respect by good musicians. You know, playing our music is the first thing that we do. When people get the chance to dig into the band and find out what we’re about, then they can learn what’s behind all of our music.
What advice would you give to those out there reading this that may have questions about Jesus and Christianity?
Tim: Questions and doubts are two totally different things. The questions I had about Jesus and Christianity led me to better understand God and ultimately grow closer to God. The hardest part is having the discipline to research those questions. All of us have grown up in a culture where we like answers handed to us. It is also unfortunate that very few people have good advice to give. The truth has also been contrary to popular opinion. Jesus taught a revolutionary message that is even different than what the average “church” sermon might teach. When it really comes down to it, my questions answered have led me to know that the gospels are truth and life.

94 hours . . . of regret . . .
For me to realize . . . What I held
Unfading beauty (not just a face)
(I held its innocence) Within my heart
Now I won’t let go
I won’t let go (x5)
The torment of
Your eyes
Has awakened
My soul (x2)
The pain
Of a moment’s time
Will forever beg . . . Your . . . forgiveness
Forgiveness!
Ninety Four . . .
Hours . . .
For me . . . to realize
I held . . . unfading beauty
I held . . . your innocence!
